"For in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to your fathers or command them concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices. But this command I gave them: ‘Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people. And walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.’ But they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in their own counsels and the stubbornness of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward. " Jeremiah 7:22-24
Today as I was having my quiet time I came across this passage of scripture an it amazes me of how mankind always wants to work backwards! Here God says I didn't tell your forefathers to sacrifice to me THEN I would bless them. I said OBEY me then I will be your God and you my people. We have this mind set where we need to do something to earn favor whether from God or people. But God says no you have it backwards I give and give and give and you do nothing!!! That's the beauty of agape, we have no way of earning this love but He gives it to us. Can you imagine your spouse coming up to you and saying I have to earn your love then you can love me. I don't know about you but I would be broken hearted. I mean this is my spouse she should know I love her no matter what, what do you think were saying to God when we act this same way. Abraham was counted righteous because he believed, Israel was called God's people because they believed, we are counted righteous because we believe. We are called to walk by faith not by ritual. Don't insult our Lord this way, let us obey His voice and move forward towards His promise. Eternity.

About Me
- Nick
- My name is Nick Ford. I am a pastor in my home town of Stafford,Ct. I was raised by two amazing God loving parents, who always told me about how much Jesus loves me. I came to know Jesus as my personal savior when I was eight years old and for the next seven years God slowly worked on me until brought me to the point where I wanted to be all in for Jesus. So as a sophmore in high school I dedicated my life to Jesus and its been a wild ride! When I was a senior in high school God called me to ministry so when I graduated I attended Word of Life Bible Institute for one year. And was then called back home to work as a church intern in a local church in my home town. Following my internship year God brought me across town to another little church in need of a Youth Pastor.I have only been here for little over a year, but God has done some amazing things in me and through this ministry. We have a long way to go and a lot of growing to do. But God has blessed this Rural Youth Pastor, and I hope he'd use me to be a blessing to you too.
